Key Stage 3 students at FGS recently took part in the summer term Health and Wellbeing Day.
A full day of sessions, workshops and presentations were prepared by staff and the director of Health and Wellbeing Sarah Powell.
Topics were centred around a theme of “staying safe” and included subjects such as fire safety, road safety, stranger danger, water safety, anti-social behaviour and child sexual exploitation. External partners were used extensively and included Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue and the Footlights Theatre Company.
Dedicated health and wellbeing “takeover” days are a key feature in the embedding and delivering the aims of the Healthy Learning Trust alongside regular events such as Fitness Friday’s and Wellbeing Wednesday’s.
