The Healthy Learning Trust (HLT) has secured funding from the Capital Investment Fund (CIF) of over £300,000 for Trust member Flixton Girls School (FGS) in Trafford.
The money, which has to be applied for through a Department for Education grant scheme, has been awarded for the urgent repair and replacement of large sections of roofing and the replacement of defective windows and rooflights.
Healthy Learning Trust Deputy CEO Phil Deakin said “In securing this funding we are safeguarding the long-term structural integrity of FGS. It is clear that had we not acted, large portions of the school would have become unusable. The majority of the work will be carried out in the summer holidays, so we do not anticipate any disruption to teaching and learning for staff or students.”
